Bring on the New Year

Residents will be approached with a pleasant surprise at their doors. The surprise entails a bag (with the word "good fortune" written in Chinese) of cookies and a small pamphlet with helpful dates and tips to thrive academically and personally. The cookies and the phrase "good fortune" are to represent a fortune cookie. This program will be held a couple of days before Lunar New Year on Jan. 25, so the program's purpose is to wish all the residents good luck this semester, encourage them to reflect on the previous semester, and provide tools when things get shaky. RA Maria will knock on residents doors. Before the residents receive their bag, RA Maria and the residents will discuss what they worked for them last semester, what did not, and what new things they will try this semester (when it comes to managing their school workload and also balancing that with their life). SWBAT have an intentional conversation with RA Maria on their plans for their second semester. Residents who are not present to receive the bag will have it left outside their doors. Attendance will be taken by noting who answered their door and had a conversation with RA Maria.
