The workshop will present an overview of export controls in the academic community and will address the following questions: How do I know if my proposal or project involves export controls and what do I do if it does? What are EAR and ITAR and what is the difference? What types of activities require an export control license? What is a technology control plan? The emerging issues regarding foreign influence over research will also be addressed. Concerns being raised at the federal level will be discussed as well as disclosure obligations. Faculty, graduate students, and staff involved in research activities are encouraged to attend.
