As part of the 2026 Open Experimental Studio, EBPL Genealogy Librarian David Laatsch will present "Finding Roots" as an introduction to genealogical research in conjunction with Open Experimental Studio Resident Artist Rachel Parish's "Alternative Mapping" project. Alternative Mapping is a hands-on, family friendly workshop that explores alternative ways of mapping migration, movement, and belonging. Participants are invited to create personal maps that trace known, partially known, or entirely unknown routes of migration through their families, communities, or imagined histories.

"Finding Roots" with EBRPL Librarian David Laatsch begins at 12:00 p.m. in Glassell Gallery and will be followed by the Alternative Mapping Workshop.
