The Department of Experimental Statistics is hosting Dr. Wenyaw Chan from the University of Texas, Houston, on June 9 at 11 a.m. at 115 Coates Hall.

Join us for his lecture titled "Integration of Science and Statistics in Teaching and Research of Stochastic Modeling."

A statistics department would create an environment that encourages collaboration between researchers outside the discipline and statisticians. Expanding the suite of its degree programs to include “minors” would allow the department to serve as a central hub from which students across campus can learn to view the full spectrum of real-world applications through a statistics lens. This presentation will include Dr. Chan’s personal experience in collaborative research with health scientists and cross-disciplinary education of statisticians and other public health students seeking biostatistics as a minor. His personal vision will also be offered.
