About this Event
The second session of LA-SEER Talk: From Risk to Resilience - Fall 2025 Series will welcome Dr. Jill Trepanier, Chair and Professor, Department of Geography & Anthropology, LSU, who specializes in hurricane climatology and the estimation of risk using statistical methods. Currently, she uses this information to estimate risk to cultural heritage institutions, Native American sites, and coastal fisheries. She also assists in environmental science education development through the implementation of weather stations and real-time data to K-12 classrooms in South Louisiana.
In her talk, Dr. Jill Trepanier will highlight extreme weather/climate threats to libraries and archives projects. She will also discussion will also include stalling tropical cyclones, communicating uncertainty, K-12 weather station educational outreach, and much more.
