The third session of the Spring 2026 LA-SEER Talk: From Risk to Resilience series will feature Dr. Robert Twilley, LSU Vice President for Research and Economic Development and a professor in the Department of Oceanography & Coastal Sciences. Dr. Twilley is the founder and former director of the LSU Coastal Sustainability Studio and previously served as Vice President for Research at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and Executive Director of Louisiana Sea Grant.
An accomplished scholar with nearly two decades at LSU, Dr. Twilley has secured more than $25 million in research funding and authored nearly 200 publications. His work focuses on wetland ecology, global climate change, and coastal restoration, integrating ecosystem science with engineering design to support large-scale coastal and wetland restoration efforts.
Through his research and leadership, Dr. Twilley has contributed significantly to advancing ecosystem-based approaches to resilience in Louisiana’s coastal environments.
