The LSU Wind Ensemble opens the spring semester with Allusions, a concert exploring works inspired by people, places, and events. Highlights include the world premiere of Joseph Wilcox Jenkins’ Timpani Solo, Bits and Pieces, transcribed and performed by Dr. Brett Dietz, Professor of Percussion. After intermission, Assistant Professor of Horn Johanna Yarbrough will join the ensemble for Kevin Day’s Windborne. The program concludes with Karel Husa’s monumental Music for Prague, 1968.
