Join us for a seminar featuring Dr. Derek Peak, visiting scholar from the University of Saskatchewan, on Tuesday, April 14, from 12:00–1:00 p.m. in 214 Efferson Hall. Dr. Peak’s research bridges soil chemistry, environmental science, and advanced molecular‑scale techniques to better understand soil and plant processes.

Scientists are increasingly using synchrotron radiation to study how critical elements function at the molecular level, with implications for sustainable food production, water conservation, and ecosystem restoration. Dr. Peak’s team has helped advance these tools at the Canadian Light Source, scaling molecular measurements to inform field‑level agricultural research. The seminar may spark opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration and new research ideas.

A light lunch will be provided. RSVP by April 10, 2026: https://bit.ly/DerekPeak.
