Star Party - Observing the Moon, Jupiter & Orion Nebula

FREE stargazing event: Join us in LSU's Landolt Astronomical Observatory on the roof of Nicholson Hall as we view Moon phase: Waxing Gibbous (1 day past 1st quarter). Other targets: Jupiter, Orion Nebula, Messier 79.

For weather updatescheck LAOatLSU on Facebook & Twitter (X). If the weather is mostly cloudy, there will not be any observing, as there will not be any celestial body to see.

Admission is free and you need not bring anything. The observatory was built in the late 1930's and is not handicapped accessible.
