The R and J Project tells the story of the First Baptist Church Youth Drama Club production of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. The play uses the text of Shakespeare’s play to tell a story about youth struggling to communicate with the older generation. The concept for the production is smashing the barrier, each character in the show is blocked from communicating with their elders, with their romantic partners, or with their community. Through performing Shakespeare’s play our young artists learn how to speak for themselves.
